- A closed heart is one that is constantly under the pressure of foreign influence. Influence that cannot be truly processed and evaluated while maintaining the safety of dissonance. Safe but surrounded. But an open heart is free. Emotional awareness triumphs the uneasiness of clueless confinement. Unbound by the forces of the unknown, finding peace in the discord that surrounds them. To be empathetic is to be enlightened. This piece represents both outcomes with a simple change in color pallete. The darker colors can make the surroundings look like sharp spikes or shards, while the brighter colors make the surroundings look like vibrant welcoming rays. Similar to how a change in color palette changes the meaning of the same lines, a change in one's empathy will change their view on the same situations.
